Meet Becca!
I write Lighthearted Stories With Serious Laughs.
Becca Kinzer lives with her husband and two kids in Springfield, Illinois where she works as a critical care nurse. When she’s not busy taking care of sick patients or using up all the storage on her phone with pictures of her dog, she enjoys making readers laugh with her lighthearted stories. She is the author of multiple romantic comedies including Dear Henry, Love Edith, which won the 2024 Carol Award for debut novel.

And for those who simply must know more…

- I grew up in the Hog Capital of the World—Kewanee, Illinois. Try not to be jealous.
- In second grade I received a journal for Christmas. I haven’t stopped writing since.
- My favorite actor of all time is Jimmy Stewart. I cried at the tender age of fourteen the day he died.
- In 2010 I biked from Nashville, TN to Baton Rouge, LA on a tandem bicycle with my then boyfriend, now husband. He dreams that someday we’ll go on a coast-to-coast bike trip across America. I dream that someday he’ll forget that dream.
- I spent my first seven years as a nurse working at a regional burn center. Since then I’ve worked on an ICU that has specialized at one time or another in trauma, surgery, neurology, and strokes.
- I went skydiving once (and once was enough).
- The reason I became a nurse may have to do with a 1980’s television miniseries about the Civil War called The Blue and the Gray in which the main hero eventually marries a nurse, leading me to believe at a young age that becoming a nurse would obviously mean living a life of great romance and excitement.
- I love a good story. I love making people laugh. And I would love nothing more than to connect with you. Be sure to sign up for my newsletter and follow me on Instagram. (Or you can hang out in the produce section at my local grocery store because I’m usually there for bananas at least a couple times a week too.)
Oh—one last thing. I might be slightly obsessed with my dog.
